Fire Fire

The onshore breeze has blown smoke from the Yorba Linda and Chino Hills brush fires into the inland valley. Sprawling Suburb is drenched in light gray smoke.  White ash, as fine as ancient paper, drifts onto cars, streets, lawns, roofs. My eyes swelled by late afternoon from the irritation. My wife noticed at dinner. I shut up our house and turned on the air conditioners and air filters. The filtered air is breathable. A mild headache gathers in the front of my head. Will this summer be another season of firestorms?
