Wow, that Chirac sure knows how to punch low, right to the stomach. His takedown of British food is not entirely accurate and not entirely nasty. Not entirely accurate--The English put together lamb and mint jelly as a winning combination of flavors. Not entirely nasty--He didn't put down native Irish and native Scottish food, truly among the world's nastest cuisines. No guy would ever kiss an Irish lass if he knew she ate boiled cold bacon!
Should we get into this fight? I recommend against it. Why? Because the French invented apple pie, the classic American dessert. Chirac would have a field day with that one. I mean, you think you're annoyed at the French now. At least, we don't claim we invented mom.
