The Era of the Dictatorship

In his preface to his theological work, God In Creation (1985), Jurgen Moltmann refers to the era of Nazi party and Hitler's rule of Germany as "the years of dictatorship", thus depriving his work of the historical situatedness that explicit mention of Nazism and Hitler would provide. God In Creation is a foundational work of post-modern, post-critical Protestant theology. In it, Moltmann constructs a theology based on human participation in a God-celebrating world community in which all beings are inter-related in God's creation. He would have this be a theology that has broken with earlier Protestant theologies based on fallacious and harmful myths that God gave nature to man for man's domination and exploitation. Is this not studied avoidance? Is this not German Romantic insistence on looking out the window instead of in the mirror?
