Quite a few of my fellow conservative bloggers, whom I regularly read, for instance, Gateway Pundit and JoshuaPundit, are upset at the cost of the Obamas' vacations, and in particular the luxury circus that Michelle has brought to Spain. Some of it the taxpayers' dime. Now ... about my personal attitude toward the Obamas, as distinguished from my vigorous opposition to the President's ideologically antiquated, wrong-headed, disasterous, nearly unpatriotic policies, and his anti-Israel posture, which I frequently invoke in this blog's articles ... I'm as cool toward them as they are toward America and, by implication of the racial profiling in which they indulge, me, who is as white as Barack's grandmother. Nonetheless, I'm not upset by their vacations and, frankly, my dears, just don't give a damn. Michelle is behaving, as she has before, more like an African-American princess than First Lady of the United States. She's not Jackie Kennedy and has not thrilled the rest of the world as a symbollic embodiment of America's youth and vitality to the "Old World". And she's not Audrey Hepburn, not on the screen or off. Audrey Hepburn felt gratitude for the cosmic luck that plucked her out of obscurity and gave her a decent living. Michelle Obama doesn't exude humility. She's more like a spoiled princess who expresses a certain brattiness. Like her husband, she's got a-t-t-i-t-u-d-e. But she is what she is. And as FLOTUS it's okay by me that she takes vacations to the White Man's luxury resorts, planting her colorful, fashionable flag. She's a-r-r-i-v-e-d, and you'd better know it. It's okay, as long as she doesn't verbalize her sour opinion of America. Just enjoy with patience the ironies of the newest nouveau riche American on Europe's shores. It's worth the price of the show. Really.
