A Black mother and her son live in this home. When I first started walking this route, the son was a young boy. When he reached his teens, he acquired a set of drums and he taught himself drumming. From the time he got out of school, into the late evening, and weekends, he drummed. His mother moved the TV room to the other end of the house. Now he is a grown man and owns a shiny new Chrysler PT Cruiser. I always get enthusiastic waves when he and his friends drive by me.
